During a visit sponsored by Boot Consulting, 10 people from around the globe with varying degrees of expertise and different parts of the supply chain created a dynamic learning environment. Because the group spent the week together a cabin on the farm, countless hours were spend sharing information and discussing relevant topics such as fair trade, social responsibility and innovative strategies.
The Hartmann family was gracious enough to allow the group and instructors to stay at their family farm which allowed access to the planting zones, cupping lab (including open air classroom) and emersion in the beautiful and stunning Panamanian wildlife. The hospitality was extremely warm and from the heart. Immediately you get acclimated to the family you understand the family's connection with the land and desire to share their love and dedication to this vibrant global industry (truly enough cannot be said).
The farm borders a protected nature reserve and has walking trails, roads which provide access to about 90 hectors (about 220 acres) of farm land and wilderness. The farm receives many visitors each month which include entomologists, horticulturists, and outdoor enthusiasts.
